In past lives, we marketed Volkswagen, Visa, Kodak, Ray-Ban, and the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. We wrote for Hearst magazines, designed Ritz-Carlton collateral, and worked in cities across the world. But we’re all at CCA because we choose higher education. We owe our success to the opportunities afforded by our alma maters, so for us, there’s nothing more rewarding than helping students find where they belong and uncover their own passions. Daniel Kehn President

Brand architect. Dan focuses on building strategy for our clients, delivering the blueprint that drives a brand into action. With more than 20 years of educational experience (including 16 at CCA), he instinctively knows how to identify unique stories that are marketable, engaging, and successful. He attended Siena College before completing his master’s at Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. When he’s not in the office, he’s probably downhill skiing, traveling internationally, or taking beautiful photos of his dog.

Darcy Sokolewicz Executive Vice President

Problem solving expert. Darcy manages all media planning and buying for clients, as well as representing the agency at professional conferences and meetings. On top of her 11 years at CCA, she spent a decade working at both Mullen and Arnold, the two leading advertising agencies in New England. Outside of the office, the SUNY New Paltz grad stays outside, either getting her fingers dirty in her garden or hiking with her husband and three daughters. Her favorite time of day? Five in the morning, when she’s catching up on the latest bestsellers.

Lauren Herrington Assoc. Vice President, Client Services

Once a higher education marketer, always a higher education marketer. After working for years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then CCA, Lauren briefly dabbled in healthcare marketing only to realize her indisputable hunger for surpassing enrollment goals and defining institutional brands would never fade. Now in her 10th year at CCA, Lauren oversees the account team with perpetual ease, maintains excellent relationships with our partners, works magic with limited budgets, and pitches new business like a boss. Pro tip: If she’s talking about “yield,” it might actually be in reference to the hay farm she lives on with her husband and two boys. But unless she’s a got a glass of Malbec and a good book in her hands, she probably is discussing strategies for Accepted Students Day.

David A. Moore Creative Director

Creative powerhouse. Listening creates the most fertile soil in which ideas can grow, and David is a very good listener. With an eye for design and ear for copy, he takes a holistic approach to his work. Every piece—from the smallest logo to the most glamorous video project—must play an integrated role in telling your story. A father of three and husband of one, this Yale University graduate brings more than 2 decades of experience as an art director, designer, illustrator, copywriter, and bagpiper to CCA. Why does CCA need a bagpiper? Because every agency needs a bagpiper.

Jim Maximowicz Associate Creative Director

A graduate of the State University of New York at New Paltz, Jim brings a veritable mountain of creative talent to CCA. With formidable experience in print and publication design, digital media, web design, and UI/UX, his talents span platforms and mediums. Over his two decades as a designer, he has worked with a variety of clients, from non-profits and small businesses, to government agencies and corporate conglomerates, and of course, colleges and universities. He believes that while each client and industry is unique, they’re all looking to connect audience to content, and his challenge is to make that happen in the most creative and engaging way possible. Jim, his wife, and his two children make their home in Albany, New York. When not at the office, he can be found spending as much time with his family as possible—building Lego vehicles, riding bikes, hiking the local trails, or looking for constellations in the night sky.

Colleen Sweeney Art Director

With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Art from SUNY Oneonta and years of professional experience designing for digital and print mediums, Colleen brings to CCA what every client demands: creative versatility in an interconnected world. Speaking of which, Colleen spent a semester at sea with the University of Virginia, visiting 12 countries via cruise ship to acquire global economic, leadership, and cultural awareness skills while at the same time enhancing her knowledge of the global art world. After graduation, Colleen held impressive roles at a publishing agency and most recently Brawn Media, a marketing agency where she presided as Creative Director and produced countless animated HTML5 banner ads, social ads, TV spots, pre-roll video ads, OOH displays, responsive websites, and beyond. (She even re-branded the Times Union Center box offices’ interiors and exteriors from top to bottom, which locals would consider a huge honor given the TU’s long-standing history and impact on Albany’s economy.) While her clients have run the gamut across industries, Colleen does have higher education experience too—having designed everything from print collateral, to newsletters, to digital media, to airport banners for various schools. She currently lives in Clifton Park with her boyfriend, where their lives revolve around their fur babies Phoebe (their cat) and Ruger (their dog). Together, they like long weekends away, traveling, and exploring pretty much anywhere that is Ruger-friendly and has a good culinary scene, or an AirBnb with a nice kitchen, as they love to cook.

Heidi Basso Director of Project Management

Heidi efficiently keeps the creative, account, media, and digital teams on track with impeccable organization and scheduling skills that come from over 15 years of experience. In her previous roles at Overit and Media Logic, Heidi managed deadlines and workflows for major financial service accounts, including Visa, Chase, and Wells Fargo. She has also handled projects for insurance providers like MVP Health Care, retailers like Appolo Heating, H&V Collision, and CDTA, and schools such as Maria College and Doane Stuart. A State University of New York at Oswego graduate with a BA in communications, Heidi also helps CCA by researching and implementing new web-based project management and collaboration tools that make everyone’s—including clients’— lives easier.

Melissa Fiorenza Director of Content Strategy

Content machine. A Tufts University grad, award-winning copywriter, and published author, Melissa is our lead content strategist—helping our clients tell their stories across print, digital, and experiential formats. With over a decade of experience in journalism and marketing, she’s got some great stories to tell; ask her about her voicemail from Sinbad and the time she met the only and only Florence Henderson. A mom of two toddlers, Melissa often retreats to Orangetheory Fitness or into Hulu marathons with her husband.

Jay Feit Director of Operations & Print Services

Print master. Jay knows anything and everything print, managing all of CCA’s print procurement and production for the last eight years. After receiving his Bachelor’s in Communications from SUNY Buffalo, he spent 22 years playing a crucial role in the development of Media Logic. He loves traveling and all-things sports related. And, as a diehard baseball fan, he roots for two teams: The Mets, and whoever’s playing The Yankees.

Karen Dolge Senior Media Manager

Calm and collected. Karen manages all media that comes through CCA’s doors from start to finish. With a background of more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience, she’s transitioned with media as it moved to the digital side. When she’s not developing comprehensive media strategies, the SUNY Oswego grad is busy at home with her kids and husband. But what keeps her so calm? Well, if she’s not competing in a marathon, she can be seen running gracefully on the roads of her glorious home in Kinderhook.

Kiera Lacy Account Supervisor

Small but mighty. Considering her wealth of client relations experience at nationally renowned agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Media Logic, and the Patient Experience Project, it’s not surprising what Kiera can accomplish both before and after her daily Nespresso fixes. Far from just a liaison, Kiera brings to CCA and our partners a unique bank of ideas and strategic recommendations, as well as next-level organization and decision-making skills. Combine that with the fact that she has worked extensively in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and higher education marketing, and she may as well earn an MD. (Medical schools, take note.) She’d just have to find the time between working, cheering for the NY Giants, or island camping with her husband and black lab. But tempt her with Buffalo wings, and you can pretty much always win her over.

Nicole Cochetti Account Manager

Having been on both the agency side and client side of the marketing relationship in her previous roles, Nicole brings to CCA a passion for customer service and an appreciation for the needs of all partners involved. Before CCA, she was most recently Director of Marketing and Park Operations for Flight Trampoline Park in Albany, New York, where she developed internal campaigns and worked with various media outlets as the point person for all things marketing—a role that equipped her with the ability to make decisions fast and thoughtfully at the same time. Prior to Flight, Nicole served as the Events and Promotions Manager at Ed Lewi Associates, where she worked closely with clients including the New York Racing Association and the Times Union. A Siena College graduate with a bachelor’s in marketing, Nicole continues to have an over-the-top-love for Siena, bleeding green and gold even as she travels the world with friends to catch the best concerts, wakes up early for her Metabolic classes, or closes the day with her lab fur baby, Brantley. What you can expect working with Nicole: she’ll never settle for just getting the job done, she has to excel at it—which is why we’re fortunate to have her as an account manager at CCA.

Nick Fredette Account Manager

Perpetual optimist. The best part about working with Nick is that you’re getting a master-of-many-trades—especially when it comes to account service and digital strategy. Well-spoken and quick-witted, the Houghton College alum has a background in data analytics, reporting, and all the acronyms, like SEO, PPC, SEM, CRO—he previously held roles at Informz and GlobalFoundries—as well as a natural talent for managing client relationships and flawless presentation skills. And in case you’d like to learn how to SCUBA dive, build a chicken coop, or play any instrument, he’s good at that too. Wave him off the soccer field and he’ll teach you anything you need to know.

Meghan Moran Account Coordinator

Meghan’s passion for being an excellent communicator and creative brainstormer stems from her love for theatre, dance, and vocal performance. (During her time at Grove City College, she performed in musicals like Oklahoma! and Anything Goes.) Before bringing her polished skills and more to CCA, she held marketing roles at a non-profit in Saratoga and at Baker Public Relations in Albany, and she even started her own small business, The Velvet Virtues; check it out on Etsy. Meghan’s goal when she’s connecting with clients or audiences? Always give them something memorable to walk away with.
