CCA partnered with longtime client Thomas Jefferson University to develop a targeted marketing strategy, which, among other tactics, included a paid media campaign aimed at generating awareness of the University among key leaders at designated peer institutions nationwide, strengthening Jefferson’s academic reputation, and ultimately improving Jefferson’s U.S. News Best Colleges ranking.
Media tactics included paid social advertising; paid partnerships with industry publications such as Chronicle of Higher Education, including run-of-site ads, email ads, e-blasts, and print ads; and custom cover gatefolds on Time and Fortune magazines targeting presidents, provosts, enrollment leaders, C-suite executives, deans, and directors.
These efforts paid off, and Jefferson advanced 28 places in the Best Colleges rankings (from 176 to 148). Additionally, their peer rankings score saw the largest jump among all private institutions and the fourth-highest jump among national universities.
